Rebirth is described by current community guides as a later progression reset that trades current-run progress for stronger future starts or additional evolution options. The official Evolve a Cell description does not state when it unlocks, what it awards, or what survives. Treat the confirmation screen in your current server as the only authority for the actual transaction.
Do not reset from memory
Open the rebirth panel and stop before the final confirmation. Record the stated requirement, guaranteed reward, reset list, retention list, and whether the action can be reversed. If the game does not name an item, do not assume it is safe because another guide says it carried over.
Community sources disagree about stages, evolution points, mutations, designs, index progress, DNA, cards, and other carryover. Those disagreements may reflect updates or different systems being called the same thing. Use the exact labels on your screen.
Complete a retention checklist
Current-run resources
Check food progress, XP, DNA or other currency, temporary boosts, event progress, and unclaimed rewards.
Body and design
Check attached parts, unlocked parts, saved shape, paint, patterns, and any design slots.
Long-term systems
Check tree points, purchased nodes, mutations, index entries, quests, passes, and achievements separately.
Rebirth reward
Record the exact guaranteed benefit, quantity, destination, and when it becomes active.
Take a screenshot of the final panel. If the wording only says “some progress,” postpone until you can verify the important items. The cost of waiting is time in the current run; the cost of guessing may be permanent progress.
Decide whether the current run is finished
Rebirth makes sense only when the documented reward supports your next goal more than the current run does. Ask whether you can still learn a route, test a part, complete a clearly visible objective, or claim a reward without significant risk. Do not stay solely because the current cell looks powerful, and do not reset solely because a guide names a stage.
Avoid “rebirth when stuck” as a rule unless the live game says rebirth is the intended solution. A route problem, scattered tree, or mismatched build can stall progress without making a reset valuable. Use the Evolution Guide to diagnose those first.
Plan the first run after rebirth
Write a short opening before confirming: diet choice, safe food loop, first survival priority, first part role, and the long-term benefit you expect to use. A reset is easier to evaluate when the next run repeats a familiar route.
After rebirth, verify the promised reward immediately. Check the displayed resource, tree, mutation, or starting state. Then inspect each item you expected to retain. If something differs, save the screenshot and date before spending further resources.
Separate rebirth from death recovery
A death screen may offer choices that sound like starting over, continuing, or creating a descendant. Those are not automatically rebirth. Read their own retention terms. Do not apply a rebirth guide to an ordinary death or assume a death option grants the same long-term reward.
Likewise, a cosmetic redesign is not a reset unless the game says it changes progression. Keep the system names distinct in your notes so advice from different screens does not merge into one false rule.
Verify community claims safely
When a guide says a system survives, check whether it shows the before screen, confirmation wording, and after screen on the same version. A single after-state cannot prove what was retained if the player already owned it through another route.
For point rewards, confirm the balance change and the destination. For mutations, confirm the trait remains equipped or available. For design, compare the actual saved form. Report the result as community verified for that date, not a permanent official rule.
Rebirth FAQ
When does rebirth unlock?
Current community sources associate it with later stages, but the exact gate is not officially published and may change. Follow the live progression prompt.
What do I keep after rebirth?
Only the current confirmation can answer safely. Check currency, parts, design, tree, mutations, index, quests, and rewards separately.
Should I rebirth as soon as possible?
Not automatically. Compare the guaranteed future benefit with useful goals remaining in the current run, then prepare a repeatable restart route.
Is rebirth the same as dying?
No assumption should be made. They appear as different contexts in community documentation and can have different reset and reward rules.
